Quote by fireflywishesSoooo...
anyone got any fun summer plans?
Work. Work. And more work. But there are some shiny spots on my summer calendar. Some of my college
friends are driving down to visit over the 4th of July weekend. My dad is
planning a visit sometime during the summer as well and we'll go visit an
airplane museum nearby.
I've also have a container garden started on my patio. So I'll eventually have
some tomatoes and cucumbers. Mmm. Tasty. In
the meantime I get to nuture them to the point of becoming edible. lol. That's
about it for me.
So I'll pose a question: What, if any, kind of food did you love as a kid, but
now hate? Why?
Apparently, as my parents have told me, I really liked liver as a kid. Now I
can't stand the stuff. A change must have happened to my tastebuds - supposedly
they do change as we grow up - and that's all I can say about that.
Besides...Euw...liver. Blehgh. :P
Quote by sailorchironWell, last week
I turned 31, but yesterday my boss told me he thought I was 18.
Wow...that's a thirteen year difference. Quite the compliment. (Or
insult...depending on how each individual takes it.) I think it's quite nice.
Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was a good one!
Quote by fireflywishesGettin' ready
to celebrate another year older... woe!
[Picture the Stork in Dumbo] Happy Birthaday to you...happy birthaday to you.
Happy Birth-a-daay, dear...dear...what's his name? Oh yes, dear firefly~wi~shes.
HAPPY BIRTHA~DAY TOOOOOOOOOOO YOU!
Quote by cerealjoeJust when everyone is
talking about feeling old, I have a good "I'm may be 22 but I still look
young" story.
Now this I can comment on: it is nice to
be seen as younger (when you're a little older pershaps?). Anyway, maybe it's
how I act, or I don't know what it is... All I know, is that I have yet to
figure out why everyone - ever - has me pegged as being at least six years
younger than I am. Most people think I'm in my early 20's...which I'm not But!
It makes me feel young. And I live by the ToysRUs song, "I don't wanna grow up...I'm a ToysRUs kid. There's a millon toys
at ToysRUs that I can play with. From bikes to trains to video games it's the
biggest toy store there is. I don't grow up because maybe if I did...I couldn't
be a ToyRUs kid." (Well, most of it...I've set foot in the actual
stores a total of two times in my entire life!) So here's hoping that this
"you're that old!?"
quirk people see in me stays with me into my 50's and beyond. I will be
eternally 29 (or younger)! Buwhahahahaha...
Quote by kashikosa not really logical,

Hahahaha...abnormal. I have no idea why
I find that so funny. And that is my only contribution to this branch of the
conversation. *wanders off still laughing because it's true*
Quote by angelxxuanwait until you're
28, soon to be 29, and you walk into the doctor's office and they ask where's
your husband or do you want you're husband to come back and we can talk about
things...
Omg. I sooooo hear you on this one. I'm 28 too, and I just got asked if I had
kids that would be cranky if I hadn't bought x item by the clerk at the store. I
actually felt my heart flip-flop because I was thinking, "Dear lord...do I
really look like I have kids [multiple kids! wtf!?] at home!?" That
was a shocker. It's still shocking. I'm in the singles-boat too. It sucks when
you're stereotyped into categories, but to be put into a category that skips
about four more steps in my life before that one happens... Now
that hurt. *goes to decompress*
Quote by fireflywishes@Elves... the
guestbook entries are all left aligned on my screen... I think we'll have to let sailorchiron fix this one because I'm pretty much
in the same boat as you.
Drat...maybe it's something that I did somewhere when I was messing with stuff
on my own profile page.
Because it seems that every single
guestbook I vist is justified to the center on their profile pages.
Is anybody else having this issue, or is it just me?
Also, WELCOME new members! (No,
no...you're not an after thought at all. *cough*) Seriously though, welcome to Oldsters. Have a cookie.
It's been a while since I've been here...and the whole place went and changed
the look on me! I do
like it. (Thanks sailorchiron.) Such warm relaxing colors...reminds me of
tea...and old folks drink tea. Are we really that old?! Haha. I jest. It was kind of a bad one at that.
On a side note, the guestbook entries are all being centered when viewed on the
main page. (Speaking of which, my own guestbook is doing that - help?) Could we
left justify things again? I think it makes stuff easier to read. And some of
the titles for sections seem to be overlapping when I view the main
page.
(I am soooooo not the one to fix this. I barely know how to make text bold and what not.)
Hehe...I'm not gonna lie. *whispers* I really like the new banner. ^_^
And thanks for the "good luck" send off, GearStalker05. And thanks to
sailorchiron for the nod to my never-done-but-only-in-my-mind artwork. ^_^;
Mayhaps I'll get around to a wallpaper or something...maybe...hehe.
My Internet will still be sporadic for about another month. I'm living out of a
suitcase (argh) so yes, moving is quite the
pain in the a$$ but the new place should be worth it.
Oh! And welcome aboard, sailorchiron as an admin of Oldsters! ^_^

has anyone else submitted art for the banner/avi
contest?
We officially have one entry posted for everyone to see! (See above
announcement.) And
the entry would be yours sailorchiron.
I was all gung-ho to try my hand at making a banner - using the grandparents
from Kekkaishi as my inspiration - but life got in the way and I've completely
run out of time. I'm in the process of moving, so I won't be able to submit
anything like I originally planned. Fireflywishes was right, I needed a
deadline. I'm a horrible procrastinator! Yours would have blown mine out of the water anyway, so it's just as well.
lol.
Ah yes, I too graduated. I've got a B.A. in Communications, and now I get to
have the glorious job hunt search. Ick.
Hopefully it won't take me too long. I've got resumes out and hopefully somebody
will call me and hire me. For the love of God -
hire me!
I'm with Spystreak on waiting until summer for a banner competition. Perfect
example: me = should be doing paper, but I'm here procrastinating. hehe.
Maybe we could start topics about what was popular when we were kids and
reminisce about the "good ol' days." Some possible topics: fashion
trends, car styles, 80's cartoon shows, etc. Those are all I can think of for
now. But that might be a good place to start.
I'm all for the energy building. That and this is the only group left that I was
a member of that has yet (is not) purged. Woot for the "old folks." We take a lickin' and keep on tickin'
lol.
I've got a question: What is a Aspirant
Member? That's what I'm listed as.
I've also got an answer: Be confident in your own right. Be sure of yourself
first, then impress others with that confidence second. That's a great
foundation to build, and what's best is that you'll always be sure of
yourself!
Oh! I so agree that people who rip should be ripped themselves - in half! *insert
evil laugh* I've caught a few rippers and reported them on MT, so I do what I
can. I can't even make an awesome wallpaper (decent, but no where near
the elite gallery standards) and I've seen my Kyo wallpaper ripped at a
different site. *sigh* Is it sad that my first reaction was "Hey, I've been
ripped! " and then..."HEY! I've
been RIPPED!
" I was amuzed with myself by those reactions in that order. lol
I just joined and I thought it sounded cool to be a member of an online family!
*hugs to everyone*
And this may presumptuous of me, but I've got an announcement I thought the
members here might be interested in.
For those in college with a Facebook account, a group has been created there to
bring the members of MT together who are suffering college stress.
People can talk about anime there as well and vent frustrations about school!
(Just what we all need - another outlet to waste our time in! So much friggin'
homework. *sigh*) So if you're part of Facebook search for
"Minitokyo.net-ers" and do join.
I've posted a wall from Threads of Fate. It's an action/RPG that's little
known. Actually the majority of my game collection is almost exclusivly
RPGs. I own some of the soundtracks to some of the games. Dewprism (aka
Threads of Fate) is one of them. Final Fantasy games are great, but a little
too much in the public eye because they over shadow all the other good games
like Wild Arms and Suikoden. I've played ICO three times - what an overlooked
gem. The last Star Ocean: Till the Ends of Time would have sucked had it not
been for the guide and how to use the invention system. Grandia is a really
good series (awesome combat system) and I trudged through the Grandia II port to
the PS2 with its weird slowdown at times. I could go on, but I think that I
might have proved my point. I
wanna join - I love the stories in RPGs.
Hrm...don't tell me that all of us "Oldsters" actually died?
Activity we are sorely lacking right now. Just an observation. As of now I can't really do anything about it. ^_^;; Hehe.
Work. Work. And more work.

The guestbook looked lonely, so I posted. No news on my end. Sorry to say.
*licks fingers after helping self to said chocolates* Mmm. Nummy.
